Indian Air Force will get new cruise missile, DRDO is making 600 km range air launch missile

DRDO, Cruise Missile: The strength of the Indian Air Force is going to increase soon. The country’s leading defense research organization DRDO is developing a new air launch subconic cruise missile (ALSCM). The special thing is that this missile will not only be cheap, but will be able to destroy the important bases of the enemy from a distance of up to 600 km in an accurate manner.

Air Launched Subsonic Cruise Missile

What is the specialty of this missile? (DRDO, Cruise Missile)

This missile will be based on DRDO’s pre -made ITCM technology, but it will be launched not by ground, but through fighter jets. It is being designed in such a way that it can also be fired from SU-30MKI, Rafael, MiG-29, Tejas and future fighter aircraft AMCA.

Due to the air launch, it will not require any heavy booster, so that this technology will not only be cheap, but will also be easy to use. This will give flexibility in both mission planning and operation.

Which technology will be equipped with missiles? (DRDO, Cruise Missile)

This missile will be installed in the country itself, which will help to fly a long distance. In addition, it will install modern incentive navigation and satellite guidance system so that the target looks absolutely accurate. Its aerodynamic design will be such that it will be able to fly at a very low height, avoiding the enemy’s radar.

How is this missile different from BrahMos-NG? (DRDO, Cruise Missile)

While BrahMos-NG is a supersonic category expensive and sharp missile, this new missile will be light, inexpensive and more deployed. The BrahMos-NG speed where Mach is around 3.5, this new missile will be slightly slow but will be able to hit a longer distance and be useful to be strategically.

How long can it be included in the army? (DRDO, Cruise Missile)

If sources are to be believed, the first Test flight of this missile can be done by the end of the year 2025. Since it is based on DRDO’s pre -existing ITCM technology, its development is being done rapidly. If the tests are successful, it can be included in the limited operational units of the Air Force by 2027.
