

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will lead the Indian delegation on a visit to Spain, Portugal and Brazil. During this time she will participate in various programs including Finance Ministers of BRICS member countries and their central bank governor meeting (FMCBG). The minister is going to leave today. His journey to three countries will conclude on July 5. During her visit to Sevile (Spain), the Finance Minister will participate in the fourth International Conference (FFD4) on financing for development organized by the United Nations and will make a statement from India.
The Finance Ministry said in the statement that she will participate in the ‘International Business Forum Leadership Summit’ on the subject of the capacity of private capital for sustainable development from FFD4 results to implementation in Sevilla and will give the main speech. On the other hand from FFD4, she will meet senior ministers of Germany, Peru and New Zealand and President of European Investment Bank.

In the next phase of her journey, she will go to Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, where she is expected to have a bilateral meeting with the Finance Minister of Portugal. In addition, she will also interact with major investors and members of Indian migrants. The statement said that Finance Minister will address the 10th annual meeting of New Development Bank at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Apart from this, she will also participate in the meeting of Finance Ministers of BRICS and the Governor of the Central Bank (FMCBG).

Sitharaman NDB will make a statement on the theme ‘Construction of a major multilateral development for Global South’ during NDB meetings during the NDB Flagship Governor seminar. Apart from NDB meetings, she will hold bilateral meetings with her counterparts from Brazil, China, Indonesia and Russia. The BRICS is a group of five major emerging economies Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
