Ghoshamahal MLA T Raja Singh has resigned as a BJP member on Monday, June 30, after it was announced that N Ramachander Rao will be the new party president.
In a letter to current president G Kishan Reddy, Raja Singh wrote that the decision has come as a shock and disappointment. “Not just to me, but to lakhs of Karyakartas, leaders and voters who have stood by the party through every high and low. At a time when BJP stands on the threshold of forming a government in Telangana, such a choice raises serious doubts about the direction in which we are heading.”
He further noted that some individuals driven by personal interests have misled central leadership and have taken decisions by running the show from behind the curtain.
Singh also noted that he is unable to stay silent and pretend all is well. “This is not about personal ambition, the letter reflects the pain and frustration of lakhs of karyakartas and supporters who feels sidelined and unheard.”
“With great sadness, I have decided to resign from the primary membership of the BJP,” he wrote and stated that he is fully committed to the project of Hindutva and to the people of Ghoshamhal.
N Ramachander Rao has been named as the new Telangana BJP president, who will take over the reigns from G Kishan Reddy.
