PTC Web Desk: Rumours surrounding a potential separation between Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai have fueled gossip columns and social media chatter for over a year. While the couple has consistently chosen to stay silent, Abhishek has now opened up about the emotional toll that such speculative "negative news" takes—especially on families.
In a candid conversation with ETimes, the Guru actor slammed the growing trend of online trolling and misinformation. “Earlier, what was said about me didn’t affect me much. But now I have a family, and it’s deeply upsetting,” he said, referring to his wife Aishwarya and their 13-year-old daughter Aaradhya.
“Even if I clarify something, people twist it. Because, at the end of the day, negative news sells. People forget that I have a life, and I’m answerable to those I care about. You’re not living my life,” Abhishek said, highlighting how relentless speculation impacts those closest to him.
The actor, who has starred alongside Aishwarya Rai in hits like Dhoom 2, Guru, Kuch Naa Kaho, and Dhaai Akshar Prem Ke, also shared an incident involving a cruel troll. Aarya actor and friend Sikandar Kher reportedly retaliated by posting Abhishek’s address online, daring the troll to say it to his face.
“It’s easy to hide behind a screen and hurl abuse. But have you ever thought about how it affects someone emotionally? Even those with thick skin are human. How would you feel if someone did that to you?” Abhishek asked.
Calling out the cowardice of internet trolls, he issued a direct challenge: “If you’ve got the guts to post it online, then come say it to my face. I’ll respect someone who speaks with conviction—even if it’s unpleasant. But hiding behind anonymity? That’s just weak.”
On the work front, Abhishek Bachchan is gearing up for the release of Kaalidhar Laapata, directed by Madhumita. The film also stars Daivik Bhagela and Zeeshan Ayyub and is set to premiere on ZEE5 on July 4.
