
IMD Weather Forecast: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon is active across India, due to which heavy rains are occurring in many states. The situation is serious in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

IMD Rain Forecast in India: Monsoon has become fully active in the country and its effect is visible in every corner. Heavy rains in many areas of North India including Delhi-NCR have given relief to people from the scorching heat, but this monsoon has also caused havoc in many parts of the country. The situation is worst in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. Due to continuous rains in the hilly areas, the rivers are in spate and landslides are happening at many places. Many routes have been closed due to debris on the roads. This has made the movement of common people difficult.
Life has been disrupted in many cities of Himachal Pradesh
Due to heavy rains, life has been completely disrupted in many cities of Himachal Pradesh. At some places, roads have turned into rivers, while at other places, houses and vehicles have been damaged due to landslides. The state administration has issued an alert in sensitive areas and has appealed to people to stay indoors.
Rain warning in many areas of Jharkhand today
The Meteorological Department has warned that there may be extremely heavy rain in many areas of Jharkhand on June 30, i.e. today. Apart from this, very heavy rain is also expected in Jharkhand on July 1. Heavy rain may occur in different parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from June 30 to July 5. At the same time, heavy rain is also expected in Vidarbha till July 2. Rain warning has been issued in 27 districts of Rajasthan today. The monsoon reached Pakistan on Sunday, covering the entire Rajasthan.
Rain alert in these states from 30 June to 5 July
Rainfall may continue in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim from June 30 to July 5. Heavy rains are expected in the Gangetic plains of West Bengal during June 30 and July 1.
When will it rain in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh?
Very heavy rains are forecast in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh on 4th and 5th July. Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rains may also occur in Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh on 30th June and 1st July. The Meteorological Department has appealed to the people of these states to remain alert and follow the guidelines of the local administration. There is also a possibility of waterlogging and traffic disruption in many areas.
Heavy rains expected in western and northeastern parts during next 7 days
The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in the western and northeastern parts of the country during the next 7 days. Konkan and Goa, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and isolated parts of Gujarat state may receive heavy to very heavy rains in the coming days. Marathwada is also expected to receive heavy rains on June 29 and 30.
Heavy rains continue in Northeast India as well
Light to moderate rain, thundershowers and heavy showers are expected in most parts of the northeastern states. Very heavy rains have been warned at some places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura between July 2 and 5.
People died a painful death in these states
- Out of the 9 workers missing due to cloudburst in Barkot, Uttarakhand, 2 bodies have been found.
- Schools are closed in 4 districts of Himachal Pradesh on Monday due to heavy rain alert. So far 20 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state. So far 39 people have lost their lives in Himachal.
- Rain warning has been issued in 27 districts of Rajasthan today as well. Heavy rains occurred in 24 districts of the state on Sunday as well. 5 people died due to lightning and drowning in the state.
- One person died and another was injured after being struck by lightning in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.
