WhatsApp Has finally launched the Document Scanning feature for Android users, which had been waiting for a long time. This feature was earlier available only to iPhone users, but now it has also started on Android platform. Initially this facility has been released only for beta testers.

Scan documents from WhatsApp

Now users will not need any third-party app, as the camera of WhatsApp will now scan the document directly and will allow it to change it by changing it into PDF format. This will make the process faster, convenient and limited on the same platform.

Where to get a new option?

When you click on the attachment icon in WhatsApp chat window, now you will see a new option “Scan Document” with “Browse Documents” and “Choose from Gallery”. On clicking on it, the camera of the phone will open and the document can be shared immediately by scanning.

Manual and Auto scan mode facility

Whatsapp added two scan modes to this feature:

  • Manual Mode: The user themselves can decide which part to scan.
  • Automatic mode: The app automatically identifies the edges of the document and scan it.
  • This will give users to experience better and accurate scanning.

Rollout started in beta version

This feature was first seen in Whatsapp Beta for Android V2.25.18.29, but it was not active then. Now gradually its rollout for beta users has started and many users have confirmed its start to work.
