EPFO UAN Activation Guide: If you are a job holder and have a PF account under EPFO ​​(Employees Provident Fund Organisation), then it becomes very important for you to activate the Universal Account Number (UAN). With this, crores of employees of the country will be able to get PF-related services faster through a digital platform. EPFO ​​has recently released a visual guide and explained this process in an easy and step-by-step manner.

Why is it necessary to activate UAN?

UAN, i.e. Universal Account Number,r iy a 12-digit permanent number. EPFO ​​issues it. It links all the PF accounts of the employee in one place. When a person changes jobs, their new PF account gets linked to the old UAN. This makes it very easy to track PF balance, view passbook, update KYC and apply claim.

In case of non-activation, neither the PF passbook can be viewed nor an online claim can be filed. Therefore, activating UAN is not only necessary but also mandatory.

How to activate UAN?

EPFO has explained the process of activating UAN in six easy steps:

Step 1: Visit the official website of EPFO, ​​​​epfindia.gov.in.

Step 2: Go to the “Important Links” section and click on “Activate UAN”.

Step 3: Enter your UAN number, Aadhaar number, full name, date of birth and mobile number linked to Aadhaar.

Step 4: Agree to OTP verification.

Step 5: Click on the “Get PIN” button, and you will get OTP on your mobile.

Step 6: Activate UAN by entering OTP. Now your account is ready for the online services of EPFO.

These services are available after UAN activation.

After UAN activation, employees can check PF balance, download a passbook and file a claim. Apart from this, information about PF transfer, KYC update and amount deposited by the employer can also be seen.

Keep these things in mind.

While activating UAN, enter the same mobile number which is linked to your Aadhaar.

Fill in all the information as per Aadhaar, otherwise you will not get OTP.

Once activated, set a password for login and keep it safe.
