A Laughter Riot The story of the film revolved around Raju (Govinda) a coolie who works at a bus stand and dreams of marrying into a wealthy family to start a better life..Then Hoshiyar Singh (Kader Khan) comes in the picture. He is a proud landlord looking for a rich groom for his daughter Malti (Karishma Kapoor). To take revenge on Hoshiyar’s arrogance a matchmaker sets him up with Raju disguised as a wealthy man. What follows is a laughter riot and confusion. A Cultural Phenomenon Made on a humble budget of ₹3.50 crore the film turned out to be a massive hit and it earned Rs. 21.15 crores at the box office. However this film was not only a blockbuster but it was also a phenomenon with dialogues and songs still relevant today. This film is now available on YouTube for free.
