Delhi weather: The weather took a turn in Delhi-NCR on Monday and along with the activation of the monsoon, people got a big relief from the scorching heat. Due to light rain and dense clouds, the temperature in the capital went down significantly from normal, causing the weather to become pleasant. In many areas, it rained intermittently throughout the day, causing roads soaked and people’s faces blossomed.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum and minimum temperature in the capital was recorded much lower than the normal average. This change is being seen due to active monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation, which will continue in the coming days.

Safdarjung recorded 6.8 degrees temperature

The maximum temperature in Delhi’s main weather observatory, Safdarjung was recorded at 30.6 degrees Celsius, which is 6.8 degrees below normal. At the same time, the minimum temperature was 24 degrees Celsius, which was recorded on an average 4 degrees. Earlier, people who were continuously facing heat got a big relief.

Rain in many areas

In various parts of Delhi, it rained intermittently throughout the day. From 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Palam recorded 14.4 mm of rain, while Ayanagar received the highest 20 mm rainfall. During this time the humidity level reached 100 percent.

The next few days will remain pleasant weather

According to the bulletin of the meteorological department, "For the next several days, Delhi will usually be cloudy and there will be a possibility of thunderstorms with light to moderate rains." Due to the active monsoon trough and cyclonic circulation on North Gujarat adjoining South Rajasthan, there will be a period of rain in Delhi.

The status of heat will not be seen till next week

According to forecasts, Delhi temperature will remain between 31 to 34 degrees Celsius in the coming days and light rain is likely till 6 July. There is no possibility of any kind of heatstroke during this period.

Cold winds and moisture increased the feeling of coolness

Eastern winds in Delhi are running at a speed of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour, which has further increased the effect of coolness. Meteorological Department officials say that this situation indicates the general early monsoon and relief will remain in the coming days.
