If LPG is put in the LPG cylinder used at home after it expires, it cannot bear the pressure of the gas. Due to this, the heat starts increasing in it. Due to the cylinder being near the fire, it also blasts many times.
Where is the expiry date written on the cylinder?
The expiry date of the cylinder is written on its top. Most of the customers are not aware of this. There are three strips on the top of the gas cylinder, on one of which some numbers like A-23, B-24, or C-25 are written. By looking at these numbers, you can find out the expiry date of the cylinder.
What do these alphabets mean?
If A is written on your cylinder, it means that this cylinder will run from January to March. After that, it will expire. On the other hand, if B is written on the cylinder, it shows the months from April to June. Similarly, if C is written on your cylinder, then it indicates the months from July to September. Apart from this, if D is written on your cylinder, then it indicates the months from October to December.
How to understand the numbers?
Some numbers are also written in front of these alphabets on the gas cylinder. Those numbers tell about the expiry year of the cylinder. For example, if C-25 is written on your gas cylinder, then you should understand that your LPG cylinder will expire between July to September in the year 2025.
Gas cylinders are also insured.
Many times a major accident occurs due to a gas cylinder explosion, which also causes loss of life and property. But if you work a little wisely, then you can compensate for this loss. Because Liquefied Petroleum Gas companies provide insurance coverage to every LPG cylinder customer. Under this, you can claim insurance of up to Rs 50 lakh in case of loss of life and property in any accident caused by an LPG cylinder.
