Thirty-six people have been killed in the catastrophic explosion at the Sigachi Industries pharmaceutical plant in Telangana. This information was provided on Tuesday by a district senior police officer. According to him, the tragedy claimed 36 lives, with 31 dead being recovered from the wreckage and three more dying in the hospital.

According to Paritosh Pankaj, the district superintendent of police, “Many bodies have been found while removing the debris.” Three passengers passed away in the hospital while receiving treatment, and 31 dead have been found among the wreckage thus far. The rescue operation’s last stage is still ongoing.

Local police teams, firefighters, hydra cranes, SDRF, and NDRF are all actively involved in relief and rescue efforts. Information indicates that there were approximately 150 people in the facility at the time of the tragedy; 90 of them were at the location where the explosion occurred.

The accident’s reasons are now being investigated. The inquiry also examines whether or not safety regulations were adhered to. The specifics of the plant’s damage are now unclear.

The relatives of the dead will receive Rs 1 crore in financial support

“This is a very unfortunate incident,” Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy remarked in response to the incident. Yesterday, our ministers monitored the entire situation and had conversations with the government officials, the industrial management, and the rescue team. The deceased were from Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Bihar. There were 143 persons on the scene when the tragedy occurred. Following discussions with government representatives and the plant management, the relatives of the deceased would receive Rs 1 crore in financial support. Seriously injured people would receive Rs 10 lakh, while minorly injured people will receive Rs 5 lakh.
