Bihar Cabinet Meeting Highlights

The Bihar Cabinet convened on Tuesday under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, where 24 agenda items were approved. A significant decision was made to provide a monthly pension of ₹3,000 to the state's artists. Additionally, an administrative approval of ₹882.87 crore was granted for the development of Punoura Dham in Sitamarhi. Nitish expressed his happiness on social media, stating that he is delighted to announce the cabinet's approval for a comprehensive development plan for the birthplace of Jagat Janani Maa Janaki, which includes the construction of a grand temple and other structures.


Development Plans for Punoura Dham

In his post, the Chief Minister elaborated that the cabinet has sanctioned ₹882.87 crore for the extensive development plan of Punoura Dham. The project is set to commence soon, with instructions given to lay the foundation by August. The government is committed to completing the construction of the grand temple at Punoura Dham, which will be developed similarly to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Ayodhya. The construction of the magnificent temple dedicated to Maa Janaki is a matter of pride and fortune for all citizens, especially for the people of Bihar.


New Initiatives and Agricultural Support

In another decision, a new initiative named the Guru Shishya Parampara Scheme will be launched, with an annual interest allocation of ₹1.11 crore approved for this purpose. The meeting also sanctioned ₹36.35 crore for the National Natural Farming Mission for the year 2025-26, which promotes farming without chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Furthermore, the ballot papers for the Bihar Assembly elections in 2025 will be printed by Saraswati Press Limited based in Kolkata.
