Passion fruit is so tasty, but sometimes, you might swerve it thanks to how messy it can be. When you cut into it, the juices fly everywhere, coating your fresh white top in yellow residue that's a pain to budge.

But one woman has shared an end to these passion fruit woes by sharing the proper way you should enjoy the fruit on Instagram.

Emma Svenningson joked that you should follow her "for more life-changing content," as she shared a video of the method she uses to eat passion fruit.

Emma shared a video of her, with a caption over the top which read: "I was today years old when I realised that you can just..."

She popped a straw into a passionfruit and wiggled it around in the fruit to ensure that the straw was in properly, and then she began to suck on the straw.

The delicious insides of the fruit came up through it, which is a great way to eliminate the messy hand problem.

This method means you'll avoid the mess - and if you opt for a thick enough straw, all of the seeds will come up anyway, so you're not missing out on any of the goodness of the fruit.

When she tried the method, she was gobsmacked, putting her hand over her face in awe that it actually worked.

Not only is passion fruit delicious, but according to Healthline, it also has a wealth of health benefits.

They share that passion fruit is a good source of nutrients, especially fibre, vitamin C, and provitamin A.

It's also rich in beneficial plant compounds, including carotenoids and polyphenols. In fact, one study found that passion fruit was richer in polyphenols than many other tropical fruits, including banana, lychee, mango, papaya, and pineapple.

Passion fruit is packed with antioxidants that protect your body from free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage your cells when they're present in large numbers.

In particular, it's rich in vitamin C, beta carotene, and polyphenols.

Polyphenols are plant compounds that have a range of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. This means they may reduce your risk of chronic inflammation and conditions like heart disease.

In the comments, someone penned: "Not gonna lie, at first glance I thought this was an avocado and was HORRIFIED at the colour coming up the straw, but then I realised it was a passionfruit and it made so much more sense. Yum!"

Meanwhile, others joked that they'd been "scammed" for their "whole lives" by eating their passion fruits with a spoon. The straw method sure does look easier!
