While fan debates about Bollywood’s most handsome actor often swing between Hrithik Roshan’s sculpted looks Shah Rukh Khan’s charm and even vintage heroes like Dev Anand history holds a different verdict altogether. A recently resurfaced Reddit post has reignited this age-old conversation pointing out that only two Bollywood stars have been declared the “Most Handsome Man in the World” in a more formal context. According to a now-viral Reddit thread referencing a tweet from History TV veteran actor Dharmendra was awarded the title of “World’s Most Handsome Man” in the mid-1970s. At the peak of his career with rugged good looks and a towering screen presence Dharmendra was not just a desi heartthrob but a global one. Back in the 70s when magazine covers and online polls defined celebrity appeal Dharmendra’s masculine grace and good looks were considered unmatched and that made him earn the tag of this long before the internet existed. Then came this actor in the 2000s Fast-forward a few decades and Salman Khan known for his brawny physique and blockbuster charm reportedly earned the same tag in the early 2000s. Those who know and follow Salman Khan would know that in 2004 People Magazine ranked him 7th in their global list of the world’s most handsome men. Though unofficial the recognition reflected Salman’s surging global popularity and immense fan base. Further making his mark stronger better and massive Salman’s wax statue were also made at Madame Tussauds in London (2008) and New York (2012) placing him among a select few Indian actors honoured on an international stage. People are still going gaga over Salman Khan Even at the age of 59 Bollywood’s Bhaijaan remains one of the industry’s most bankable and beloved stars. Whether it’s his enduring appeal in cinema or his philanthropic work his stature as a superstar isn’t just skin-deep. And while titles like “Most Handsome Man in the World” may not carry official weight they certainly carry legacy.
