Rodrygo's Real Madrid future continues to be a huge talking point amid talk of a big-money summer transfer to Arsenal. The Gunners are looking to upgrade their options in the final third and the Brazilian would certainly be a statement signing on the left-wing if Andrea Berta is able to strike an agreement for his services.
Real Madrid will certainly not let him go on the cheap, with €90million (£77million) reportedly the price tag on his shoulders this summer. So often a regular in the starting XI for the Spanish giants, Rodrygo has so far played a bit-part role for new boss Xabi Alonso at the Club World Cup in the United States.
Playing 65 minutes of their first game against Al-Hilal as he registered an assist in a 1-1 draw, he was then an unused substitute against Pachuca and he was only on the field for 23 minutes in a 3-0 triumph over RB Salzburg a few days later. As Los Blancos are back in action on Tuesday evening with a round of 16 clash against Juventus, it remains to be seen how much football he will actually play in Miami.

Speaking to the media ahead of the game, Alonso was asked about Rodrygo and he stressed that "he'll have a big role to play".
“After the game I try and acknowledge all the guys I pass as I move around," said the Spaniard, as reported by Real Madrid's official website. "He got some minutes, which were hugely important for him, and he'll have a big role to play.
"In these tournaments, sometimes the guys who start and the guys who come on can be equally as important. They can make a crucial impact, so every player needs to be ready for whenever he's called upon.
"They all have a great attitude. Rodrygo is training well and he seems fine to me. Then I have to make a decision as to who plays."
It has been an extremely long season for Rodrygo and his Real Madrid teammates and it may finally draw to a conclusion on Sunday, July 13 if they are to make the Club World Cup final. Given the possibility of a transfer to Arsenal, it could be in early August once he links up with the rest of the Gunners squad if he is to secure a move to the Emirates Stadium.
FIFA guidelines state that all players should have at least three weeks off together following the end of domestic and international commitments at the end of a season. With that in mind, we have taken a look at when Rodrygo could join up with the Arsenal squad for pre-season training depending on the different stages Real Madrid could be eliminated from the Club World Cup.
As the La Liga side are in action on Tuesday evening against Juventus, a three-week break for the players could start from Thursday, July 3 once you factor in travel back from America. That could mean Rodrygo possibly joins Arsenal in Singapore from Thursday, July 24, one day after their opening friendly against AC Milan.
Providing that Real Madrid get the better of Juventus, they will be taking on either Borussia Dortmund or Monterrey in East Rutherford on Saturday, July 5. An exit against either of those two sides and it may be from Monday, July 7 once the players' three-week break commences.
In that scenario, Rodrygo could meet his Arsenal teammates in Hong Kong on Monday, July 28 for the second part of their tour of Asia. That could possibly mean he is an option for the North London Derby against Tottenham at Kai Tak Sports Park three days later.
There is the possibility that Rodrygo misses the entirety of the Asia tour if Real Madrid are to play either PSG or Bayern Munich in the semi-finals on Wednesday, July 9, with the same applying to the final that is played in East Rutherford on Sunday, July 13. In that case, Rodrygo's first time with the Arsenal squad could be at the club's training base at the beginning of August.
There is of course the possibility that the player forgoes some of his three-week break in order to join up with the squad earlier given the importance of moving to a new club and forming an early understanding. However, it will all come down to Arsenal making a move, submitting a bid that Real Madrid deem acceptable and then getting a deal over the line as quickly as possible.
