Amarnath Yatra 2025 Begins July 3: Know Safety Rules and Route Arrangements

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has made elaborate arrangements to ensure a safe, smooth, and spiritually enriching experience for all devotees. From enhanced security to offline registration, the pilgrimage will be monitored with high-tech surveillance and robust infrastructure.
Major Arrangements for Amarnath Yatra 2025
Oxygen Booths for High Altitude Safety
26 oxygen booths have been installed across both routes - 16 on Baltal route and 10 on Pahalgam route.
Accommodation & Shelter
- Tents arranged at Baltal and Nunwan base camps.
- Staying centers operational in districts between Lakhanpur and Banihal.
Security & Surveillance
- No-fly zone declared across the yatra route.
- CCTV surveillance and drones to monitor the entire pilgrimage.
- Police assistance centers set up at every major stop.
Facilities for Devotees
- 52 langar centers, 60 RFID centres and token centers in Saraswati Dham.
- Mobile toilets, AC halls, drinking water, and 24/7 electricity at all halting points.
- First aid and ambulance services will be available throughout.
Important Guidelines for Amarnath Yatris
RFID Mandatory
- All devotees must carry RFID cards throughout the journey.
- RFID will be issued only after biometric authentication at centers in Jammu & Kashmir.
- No entry without valid RFID and medical certificate.
Offline Registration Starts July 1
For those who missed online registration, offline counters will be available from July 1.
Travel Essentials and Precautions
What to Carry:
- Comfortable shoes, woolen clothes, raincoat/umbrella.
- Waterproof bags to protect essentials from rain.
- Women are advised not to wear sarees – prefer salwar kameez or tracks for ease of movement.
Physical Preparation:
- Start walking 5 km daily to build stamina
- Practice deep breathing, stay hydrated
- Consult a doctor and obtain a fitness certificate
Restricted Categories
People not allowed to undertake the yatra:
- Children below 13 years
- Senior citizens above 70 years
- Pregnant women beyond 6 weeks
Things to Avoid
- Don’t take shortcuts; stick to designated paths
- Avoid restricted zones and don’t halt at locations marked with warnings
- Report any discomfort or symptoms immediately at medical posts

- Control rooms and helpline numbers are operational 24/7.
- Devotees can seek help from police assistance booths at every stop.
