Today actors and actresses in Bollywood aspire for a successful film but there was a time when a superstar emerged whose hit films were unending achieving 17 successful films in just 3 years. To this day no one has surpassed this actors record. Additionally he even tutored Jitendra for his first film audition. Lets discuss this star who made numerous consecutive films but when he began to fail he shifted to a political career. Bollywoods First Superstar Rajesh Khanna The Bollywood superstar we are talking about is Late Rajesh Khanna who began his journey in 1966 with Aakhri Khat. However the height of his success was from 1970 to 1973 during which he delivered 17 consecutive hits. He ruled the box office in 1970 and 1971 with films like The Train Sachcha Jhootha Safar Aan Milo Sajna Kati Patang Mehboob Ki Mehndi Anand Andaz Maryada Haathi Mere Saathi Chhoti Bahu and Khamoshi. In 1972 10 of his films also became hits including Shehzada Mere Jeevan Saathi Bawarchi Apna Desh Amar Prem Joru Ka Ghulam and Bangaru Babu leading to his record of 17 hit films that remains unbroken. When Rajesh Khanna Gave Tuition Classes To Jumping Jack Rajesh Khanna coached Jeetendra prior to Jeetendras initial film audition. They had been friends since their school days at St. Sebastians Goan High School where they were known by their real names Jatin Khanna (Rajesh Khanna) and Ravi Kapoor (Jeetendra). Khanna assisted Jeetendra in getting ready for his audition for the movie Geet Gaya Patharone. The Second Innings Of Rajesh Khanna Rajesh Khanna earned the title of Bollywoods first superstar after his 17 consecutive hits but eventually his films began to underperform. In 1990 he ventured into politics and in 1991 he ran for the Delhi Lok Sabha seat defeating Shatrughan Sinha. He served as the Delhi MP from 1991 to 1996. Although he passed away on July 18 2012 he is still remembered as Bollywoods first superstar.
