Hyderabad: K Murali, an outstanding scientist, has been appointed as the Director of Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL-DRDO) on July 1. He has taken over from N Srinivas Rao, a distinguished scientist who superannuated on June 30.
DLRL is a premier Lab in the field of Electronics Warfare Systems and has delivered Integrated EW Systems to the Tri-services during past six decades. Murali had graduated in Bachelor of Science in Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1988 and obtained M Sc in Computer Science Engineering from University of Mysore, Karnataka in 1990.
He joined DRDO as Scientist–B in Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), Hyderabad and has been serving the laboratory at various levels towards design, development, productionisation and successful installation of a number of Electronic Warfare Systems, RF Seekers and Counter Drone Systems for the Armed Forces. In addition to this, he has steered and coordinated futuristic research and development activities with academia and industry partners, a press release said.
