Jannik Sinner fired a warning shot to his biggest rivals after breezing through to the second round at Wimbledon. The world No.1 lost just seven games in his straight sets victory over fellow countryman Luca Nardi.
Sinner triumphed 6-4 6-3 6-0 - thanks to an ominous performance from the three-time Grand Slam winner.
The Italian is looking to bounce back from his crushing five-set defeat to Carlos Alcarez in last month's French Open final in Paris.
And he admitted he hopes the special surroundings of SW19 will bring the best out of him in the rest of the tournament.
Sinner said: "I am very, very happy to come back here, it's a special place for me. Playing against an Italian is very unfortunate for us, but one has to go through so I'm happy that it's me.
"The atmosphere is amazing. First matches are never easy, so I am very happy about my performance and also the serving.
"It's a new tournament with new chances and new challenges. I will try to keep going and enjoy playing here.
"If you don't enjoy playing on these courts, I don't know where you will enjoy. I'm very happy to be here, so let's see what is coming."
