Ashok Chaudhary's Firm Stance
Ashok Chaudhary, the Rural Works Minister of Bihar, has launched a fierce rebuttal against Prashant Kishor's remarks regarding his daughter, Shambhavi Chaudhary, being nominated for a Lok Sabha ticket. In an interview, Chaudhary asserted that Kishor, the founder of the Jan Suraj Party, must apologize for his comments. He dismissed the opposition's claims that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is 'exhausted', emphasizing that the leader of the Janata Dal (United) is diligent and has initiated a significant 'progress journey'. Chaudhary highlighted that under Kumar's leadership, the state has witnessed substantial development, making the upcoming Bihar elections crucial for further advancement.
Demand for Apology
Chaudhary insisted that Kishor must retract his allegations regarding Shambhavi's candidacy. He stated, "You have accused Shambhavi, yet she wins through votes. Just because we have had differences after working together, you cannot target my daughter without evidence? I will not let this go; he must apologize. Even if it requires going to the Supreme Court, I will ensure he publicly retracts his statements."
Legal Action Against Kishor
Chaudhary has filed a defamation lawsuit against Kishor, claiming that the JD(U) leader accused him of paying the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to secure a Lok Sabha ticket for his daughter. Shambhavi, who won a seat in the 2024 general elections at the age of 25, has become one of the youngest MPs. Chaudhary challenged Kishor to provide evidence for his allegations, expressing his intention to serve as a role model for the Dalit community and demonstrating that he is unafraid of those who make 'false accusations'.
