Rudraprayag: According to police on Thursday, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been temporarily suspended till the route is cleared by the administration because of falling stones and debris at the Munkatia Sliding Zone in the Sonprayag district of Uttarakhand.

“Debris and tumbling stones in the Sonprayag area’s Munkatia Sliding Zone have obstructed the route. For the time being, the Kedarnath Dham Yatra has been put on hold. In their ‘X’ post, Rudraprayag police said that the Yatra will continue if the route is cleared.
One of the most important religious pilgrimages in Hinduism is the yearly Char Dham Yatra, which comprises trips to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
To guarantee a safer and more seamless pilgrimage experience for pilgrims, the state government has recently implemented a number of infrastructural improvements, such as better roads, helicopter services, and better lodging.
Officials credit both enhanced amenities and growing spiritual enthusiasm for the pilgrims’ historic influx to the Kedarnath Dham this year.
To properly oversee the high-altitude yatra, authorities have also sent out medical response teams and increased security.
Located in the Himalayas at an elevation of more than 11,000 feet, the temple of Kedarnath is devoted to Lord Shiva and has great religious importance. On May 2, pilgrims were able to enter the Kedarnath Yatra for the year 2025.
