

Quad foreign minister:India’s Foreign Minister is on a visit to America from 30 June to 2 July. S Jaishankar has gone there at the invitation of Marco Rubio. Meanwhile, the quad countries have made a big statement in support of India on the Pahalgam terror attack. Foreign ministers of the US, Japan and Australia, who are included in the quad with India, said in a joint statement that the terrorists and those who instigated the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 should be brought into the dock of justice.
26 people killed in attack
On 22 April, there was a terrorist attack in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 civilians were killed. On April 22, 26 people were shot dead by terrorists at the Basaron Valley ground in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, most of whom were tourists. These terrorists were found to have relations with Pakistan. At the same time, in response to the Pahalgam attack, India ran ‘Operation Sindoor’ on 7 May. In this, the Indian Army targeted several terrorist bases in Pakistan and its occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting
Jaishankar met US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during a meeting of Quad Foreign Ministers on Tuesday, during which he discussed bilateral partnership, regional and global development. Jayashankar posted on X that the quad was happy to meet the US Foreign Minister during the meeting of Foreign Ministers. Jaishankar said that during the meeting, he discussed the Indo-US bilateral partnership including trade, security, technology, connectivity, energy and mobility. Jaishankar also met US Defense Minister Pete Hegsetha, during which he discussed further the defense partnership between the two countries.
He said in another X post that it was great to meet Marco Rubio at Washington DC. Useful negotiations took place on the Indo-US defense partnership, advancing interests, abilities and responsibilities.
