In today’s digital age, UPI has almost eliminated the need for cash, but an important alert has come out for HDFC Bank customers. The bank has informed all its customers that due to system maintenance, its UPI services will be temporarily closed from 11:45 pm on July 3, 2025 to 1:15 pm on July 4. That is, customers will not be able to do any kind of UPI transaction for a total of 90 minutes.

Banking apps and digital platforms will also be affected

The bank has clarified that this system downtime will affect all major UPI platforms including PhonePe, Google Pay, WhatsApp Pay, Paytm, provided the user is connected to HDFC Bank. Apart from this, facilities like HDFC’s mobile banking app, balance check, UPI PIN reset will also not be available temporarily.

The time of night was chosen wisely

HDFC Bank has deliberately chosen the maintenance time at night so that the routine of most users is not affected. However, customers who do many business and online transactions at night may face problems due to this.

RuPay card and business payments also affected

HDFC’s RuPay credit card will also not work during this downtime. Apart from this, the transaction processing of businesses whose payment service is linked to HDFC Bank may also stop during this period. In such a situation, businessmen also need to be cautious.

Advice to HDFC customers

If you are an HDFC Bank customer, carry cash or use another bank account if you need to transact during this time. This maintenance is applicable only for HDFC customers, it will not affect other bank users.
