In an interview Aamir revealed that his ancestral home is in this district of Uttar Pradesh. Also his ancestors were farmers and this is the real identity of his roots which he still cherishes. Aamir Khans Relationship with Uttar Pradesh There is a small village called Akhtiyarpur near Shahabad in Hardoi which Aamir Khan said is his ancestral village. The actor also revealed that his grandfather and great-grandfather used to live there and that they had mango orchards. His childhood stories and family history are associated with this village which is very close to his heart. Though Aamir was born in Mumbai he closely connects himself with his roots in U.P. However there was a time when Aamirs uncles wanted to sell the land. However they couldnt do it because Aamir stepped in and asked them to sell it to him. For him this is not just land; it is a treasure of emotions and memories which he wants to cherish forever. Aamir Khan got emotional and said that his grandfather and great-grandfather were farmers who were involved in farming. One of his uncles came to Mumbai for the first time to become a writer. This is where his familys connection with Mumbai started. Aamir is proud of the fact that his ancestors were both hardworking and art lovers.
