Heavy Rainfall Warning Issued by IMD

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a forecast predicting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across various regions of the country in the upcoming days. This warning encompasses northwest, west, east, central, northeast, and southern peninsular India, with many locations expected to receive over 21 cm of rain, potentially disrupting travel, agriculture, and daily life.


As per the IMD's predictions, eastern Rajasthan is likely to experience very heavy rainfall on July 3. Additionally, continuous rain is anticipated in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and eastern Rajasthan from July 3 to July 9, while eastern Uttar Pradesh and western Rajasthan may see similar conditions until July 5.


From July 5 to 9, heavy rainfall is forecasted for Haryana, Chandigarh, and western Uttar Pradesh. Jammu is also expected to receive rain between July 5 and 8. A special alert for very heavy rain has been issued for Himachal Pradesh (July 5–7), Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana (July 6–7), as well as eastern Rajasthan (July 4–6).


On July 3, very heavy rainfall is anticipated in South Konkan, Goa, and the Ghat regions of Madhya Maharashtra, with additional heavy rains expected in these areas on July 6 and 7.


Throughout the week, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in many parts of Konkan and Goa, the Ghat regions, and Gujarat. Furthermore, heavy rains are also expected in Saurashtra and Kutch.


Warnings for very heavy rainfall have been issued for East Madhya Pradesh (July 3–7), West Madhya Pradesh (July 4–6), and Odisha (July 3–5), while Chhattisgarh is expected to experience very heavy rains on July 6 and 7.


In Kerala and north interior Karnataka, very heavy rainfall is likely on July 3, with coastal Karnataka expecting rain on July 4 and 5, and south interior Karnataka on July 4.
