In Puducherry, a 33-year-old man ended his life after allegedly facing relentless harassment from private moneylenders. Vikram, a small business owner and part-time worker at a local chicken shop, was reportedly battling overwhelming debt and pressure from loan sharks demanding exorbitant interest rates.

Physically disabled due to a prior accident, Vikram had been struggling to keep up with his financial obligations. According to a suicide note recovered by police, he was driven to the edge by exploitative lending practices and deeply humiliating demands from some of the lenders.

'Paid 10% Monthly Interest'

In his final letter, Vikram accused several individuals of mental torture and named those who had allegedly subjected him to severe financial and emotional abuse. One of the most disturbing claims involved a lender allegedly demanding that Vikram send his wife and daughter to his house in lieu of payment.

The note revealed that Vikram had taken a loan of Rs 3.8 lakh on which he was paying Rs 38,000 per month in interest — a shocking 10% monthly rate. Another loan of Rs 30,000 reportedly came with a Rs 6,000 monthly interest burden.

Appeal To Actor Vijay

Vikram, a known supporter of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) — the political party founded by actor Vijay — addressed part of his suicide note to the actor. In an emotional plea, he urged Vijay to look after his wife and daughter, who now face an uncertain future.

Police Begin Investigation

Local police have registered a case and launched an inquiry based on the contents of the note. Officials are in the process of verifying the identities and activities of the individuals named by Vikram. As of now, no arrests have been made.
