Banks already have holidays on every Sunday and every second and fourth Saturday of every month. The government has not taken any action in this regard yet, nor has it issued any official statement. Bank employees are eagerly waiting for this agreement to be approved. However, bank unions and employees are also demanding this. This issue is currently between the employees and the IBA (Indian Bank Association).

The government can take this decision -

If there is a consensus between the government, IBA, and RBI (RBI latest update), then the government can approve the rule of 5 days' work in a week in banks (RBI 5-day working rule in banks). Employees hope that giving relief to bank employees, the rule of 5 days work in a week and 2 days holiday (bank leaves new rules) can be implemented in banks anytime now.

This will be the timing of banks -

At present, banks are open for a total of 7 hours from 10 am to 5 pm. If the rule of working 5 days a week (5-day working rules in banks) is approved, then they will remain open from 9:45 am to 5:30 pm (banks' new timing rules). Overall, the time of banks will increase by 45 minutes. Instead of getting two days' rest in a week, bank employees will have to work 45 minutes more every day.

Employees are making this demand -

Giving relief to bank employees from the government, the rule of second and fourth Saturday leave was implemented in banks (bank employees leave rules) 10 years ago in the year 2015. After this, the expectations of the employees increased even more, and the demand for permission to work 5 days a week (Bank 5 Days Working Rule) started being made. Since then this demand has been going on.
