Actor Prabhas is ready to start working on one of the most eagerly awaited films of his life Spirit, which is being directed by Kabir Singh and Animal director Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The movie has been making huge waves since its announcement, and now, the big news has come: the shooting is formally going to start in September 2025, as told by Sandeep’s brother Pranay Reddy Vanga at a recent U.S. event.

High Hopes, Imperative Change

Spirit is Prabhas’ and Vanga’s first collaboration together, and hopes are high. Sandeep Reddy Vanga apparently asked for Prabhas to book long dates for the film because of the grueling physical and emotional transformation that needs to be undertaken in order to play the role. Sources inform us that the makers plan to shoot the film in one long, focused schedule so as to maintain continuity and character absorption.

Deepika Padukone was initially attached to play opposite Prabhas, but she dropped out of the venture due to scheduling and contractual issues. Her exit created buzz in the industry, but the addition of Triptii Dimri, fresh from her success in Animal, was welcomed. Viewers are looking forward to watching Triptii lend depth to her character in Spirit.

A New Milestone for Indian Cinema

Though details of the plot are kept secret, Spirit is poised to bring Vanga’s trademark emotional depth together with unbridled action and a worldwide story scale. The movie is viewed as an important career step for Prabhas, through which he can tap into deeper emotional terrain than his previous action-fame assignments.

Meanwhile, Prabhas is also busy working on The Raja Saab, a romantic horror comedy releasing in December 2025, and Fauji, a patriotic drama with director Hanu Raghavapudi. With Spirit, Prabhas and Vanga can possibly reshape the art of cinematic storytelling post-pandemic.
