San Francisco Unicorns (SF) are all set to take on Texas Super Kings (TEX) in match No. 25 of the ongoing Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida, on Saturday, July 5.
This is a clash of table-toppers in the business end of the competition. The Unicorns are at the top of the table, having won six matches and lost just two so far. They have already qualified for the playoffs. However, they have suffered two defeats in a row after winning all of their first six matches. The Matthew Short-led side beat Texas in the previous meeting between the two sides this year. They chased down a 199-run target with seven wickets and 23 balls to spare.
Meanwhile, TEX are second in the standings. They have also won six matches and lost a couple. While their net run rate (NRR) isn't as great as that of the Unicorns, they have been in better form of late. Their two defeats came in the middle of the league, with three victories before and after it. So, the Men in Yellow are on a three-match winning streak. Texas have also made it to the playoffs.

Central Broward Stadium in Florida offers a surface which has a decent balance between bat and ball. The new ball can move around, while the spinners will come into play once the ball gets old. Batters will have to bide their time a little bit before going hammer and tongs. Usually, it isn't easy for a new batter to come and hit the big shots at this venue.
