Reach Daily Express | July 5, 2025 1:39 AM CST

Emma Raducanu is set to take on world No.1 Arnya Sabalenka in the third round at Wimbledon. It is by far one of the meanest tests of the young Brit's career, with Sabalenka heavily tipped to clinch the title over the next fortnight.

Raducanu beat 17-year-old Welsh wildcard Mingge Xu 6-3, 6-3 in round one. She then recorded the same scoreline against 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova in the second round.

Can she make it a hat-trick against Sabalenka in the third round? Express Sport has all the details of how to follow along...

Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka schedule

Emma Raducanu will face Aryna Sabalenka on Friday, July 4. It has been scheduled as the third match on Centre Court. Taylor Fritz gets play underway against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and that is followed by Carlos Alcaraz against Jan-Lennard Struff.

Raducanu and Sabalenka will then take to the main stage on Friday evening.

Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka start time

Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka is likely to get underway around 7pm because it is following two men's matches, which are best-of-five sets. Centre Court proceedings get underway at 1.30pm.

It's likely Fritz vs Davidovich Fokina goes beyond three sets. Alcaraz is expected to win in straight sets against Jan-Lennard.

That means Raducanu and Sabalenka could be heading to Centre Court around 7pm. Express Sport will update this start time throughout Friday if there are any changes to the predicted start time.

Emma Raducanu vs Aryna Sabalenka odds

Sabalenka is still the odd-on favourite to win the title next Sunday. The Belarusian can be found at 15/8. Meanwhile, Raducanu is priced as a 18/1 shot to lift the shield.

Emma Raducanu comments

"I definitely think playing Aryna, she's No. 1 in the world for a reason. You can't really do nothing or give nothing balls to her. I'm going to have to be aggressive but pick my moments and not kind of be overly. I think you can fall into that trap, too.

"I don't think I'm going to go out there and out-power her, like, size-wise and power-wise. I think I'm going to have to try and be creative, as well."

Sabalenka comments

"Emma is playing much better tennis since last year, I have to say. She improved. You can see that she's getting back on track. Also facing British at Wimbledon, I'm not sure I prefer that. But she's playing great tennis."
