OMBUDSMAN (3.35) can resolve any discussion over the identity of Europe's top racehorse by landing the Coral-Eclipse Stakes today.

The colt who thrust his way into the spotlight with a stunning victory at Royal Ascot faces the cream of the Classic generation in the first £1 million edition of the Sandown showpiece.

They include the winners of the 2,000 Guineas, Ruling Court, and French Derby, Camille Pissarro. Arc fourth Sosie and beaten Derby favourite Delacroix are also in a classy field.

But the John & Thady Gosden-trained Prince of Wales's winner, defeated only once in six starts, is thriving right now and still on the upgrade. He can deliver another statement win.

SHE'S QUALITY (1.50) stands out in a field of well-matched sprinters in the Coral Charge. The Irish filly was second to another of today's rivals Rumstar in early May, and then posted a career best next time in the Temple Stakes when she was caught late in the race by Mgheera. Having missed Royal Ascot, she will be fresher than some of these.

BLUE BOLT (3.00) can graduate to Listed class in the Coral Distaff, having posted back-to-back impressive wins at Windsor and Newbury

TRIBAL CHIEF (2.25), a four-time winner last year, can make amends for a troublesome passage at Newcastle nine days ago.

The star attraction at Haydock is the David O'Meara-trained ESTRANGE (2.40) who is already being touted as a live Arc candidate. The grey filly faces a straightforward task in the bet365 Lancashire Oaks in a disappointingly four runner field.

SPORTINGSILVERMINE (3.15) won his first two starts for James Owen and has continued to run respectably despite going up the handicap.

The Newmarket trainer turns to star apprentice Warren Fentiman in the bet365 Old Newton Cup and the jockey's 5lb claim can put his gelding right in the mix in the 1m4f handicap.

Jessica Harrington sent BONNIE MOON (2.05) to Dieppe to gain her first victory and she looks well treated in the 1m6f handicap on the strength of a last time out in a Group 3 at Naas.
