Now, not only humans but AI chatbots will also message you on social media. Meta is testing a new feature in which chatbots can start the conversation first. Now it is not just about following, but AI is going to enter your DMs directly.
Meta is now testing a new technology on its platforms, under which AI chatbots can send messages to users first. This feature is part of the company's "Project Omni", which aims to increase the engagement of users again and keep them connected to the platform for a long time. These chatbots have been developed through Meta AI Studio, a tool with which anyone can create their own personalized chatbot without coding.
Limitations of Chatbots
Although these AI chatbots can send messages on their own, Meta has clarified that they will send a follow-up message to the user only when the user has already sent them at least 5 messages and that follow-up messages are also possible only in a period of 14 days. The purpose of this is to make the conversation more in-depth and interesting. According to Meta, "This feature gives users a chance to explore their interests in a better way and take the conversation forward."
Create your own chatbot, the way you want
With the help of Meta AI Studio, users can create chatbots with different personalities like a cook who tells recipes or an interior designer who gives decoration advice. Creators and social media influencers can also use these chatbots to interact with their fans. These chatbots can also be kept private or shared publicly through stories and direct links. If you want, you can also show them on your Instagram or Facebook profile.
Meta's earnings and the future of chatbots
The company hopes that generative AI can generate additional revenue of $2 to $3 billion this year and by 2035 this business can reach $1.4 trillion. In the future, Meta can earn from advertising and subscription models through these chatbots. However, the company has not yet given any clear information on how this feature will be launched commercially. On the risks associated with chatbots, Meta has clearly stated that these chatbots are not professionals or experts and their information can sometimes be wrong.
