With its help, your correct weight will be known. However, the BMI formula applies to adults, not children. Now the question is, how is BMI calculated? How to calculate BMI to know body weight? Let's know about this-

What is the science of BMI?

According to Medical News Today, everyone's body is different, and their weight is also determined by different factors. These factors can be decided on the basis of age, height, and gender. Researchers believe that if your weight is not controlled at the right age, it can lead to diseases in the future and cause problems after a certain age.

Method of calculating BMI

According to Medical News Today, Body Mass Index (BMI) means the balance of height and weight. That is, what should be the weight according to the height, or what should be the height according to the weight. To calculate BMI, a person's height and weight have to be set in a formula, which is- 'BMI = weight/square of height (in meters) or BMI = weight / (height X height)'.

Understand the BMI formula like this.

To understand this formula, if someone's weight is 60 kg and height is 5 feet. Then the BMI of that person will be 25.54. To set in this formula, first convert the height into meters. 5 feet height means that the person is 1.53 meters. Now multiply 1.53 meters by 1.53 meters. This will be 2.35 meters. Now divide the weight of 60 kg by 2.35. After this, the remainder will be 25.54. This is how the BMI of a person is calculated. Generally, 25 BMI is considered to be the perfect balance of height and weight, but if a 5 feet tall person weighs 60 kg, it means that he is overweight.

What will be the correct BMI?
If someone's BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9, then it is the perfect weight. But if someone's BMI is below 18.5, then he is underweight; if their BMI is between 25 and 29.9, then they is overweight. On the other hand, if someone's BMI is more than 30, it means that he is suffering from obesity.

The right time to measure weight by BMI

One should try to measure his body weight on an empty stomach. Weighing should be done at least once a week instead of daily. In this case the difference can be easily seen. Apart from this, writing the weekly weight also tells how much weight has been lost every month.
