Kailash Kher, originally from Delhi, had problems with where to stay and what to eat when he came to Mumbai. But overcoming all this, he has created a unique identity for himself in the entire music industry today. After coming to Mumbai, he had to be very frugal to live. Kailash is known for Indian folk music and Sufi music. He was honored with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India in 2017 for his contribution to the field of music. Today, Kailash Kher’s voice is not only famous in India but also around the world. Kailash Kher’s journey here was not easy. He has achieved this success by facing many difficulties.

Kailash Kher was fond of music since childhood, so he decided to leave home at a very young age and pursue a career in music. Kailash Kher left home at the age of just 14 to fulfill his dream. After leaving home, Kailash had to face many hardships. Before pursuing a career in music, Kailash had started a handicraft business with a friend, but his destiny had something else written in it. Born in Delhi, Kailash comes from a Kashmiri family, his father Mehar Singh Kher was also an Indian folk singer. Having a passion for music since childhood, Kailash started making his mark in music at the age of just four.

After his education, Kailash Kher left home and earned his living by doing odd jobs. When Kailash was not getting any work, he gave music lessons to some children. At that time, Kailash used to charge a fee of Rs 50. Later, Kailash went to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and started spreading the magic of his voice on the banks of the Ganges. In Rishikesh, when he sang songs and people danced to his voice, he would get a divine feeling. In Rishikesh, during the aarti outside the ashrams on the banks of the Ganges, Kailash Kher would sing a song in his voice every day, hearing it, the sages and monks present there would also start dancing. One day, after hearing the singer’s voice, a sadhu said, there is magic in your voice, don’t worry so much.

Bholenath will fix everything. Listening to the Mahant, he decided to move forward and came to Mumbai from Rishikesh. From here, the struggle in his career began. Kailash later got a chance to sing jingles. Kailash has sung more than 2000 jingles so far and he gives voice to jingles on behalf of the Government of India. After many attempts, he got a chance to sing a Sufi song in Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra’s ‘Andaz’ titled ‘Rabba Ishq Na Howe’.
