Kailash Kher was fond of music since childhood, so he decided to leave home at a very young age and pursue a career in music. Kailash Kher left home at the age of just 14 to fulfill his dream. After leaving home, Kailash had to face many hardships. Before pursuing a career in music, Kailash had started a handicraft business with a friend, but his destiny had something else written in it. Born in Delhi, Kailash comes from a Kashmiri family, his father Mehar Singh Kher was also an Indian folk singer. Having a passion for music since childhood, Kailash started making his mark in music at the age of just four.

After his education, Kailash Kher left home and earned his living by doing odd jobs. When Kailash was not getting any work, he gave music lessons to some children. At that time, Kailash used to charge a fee of Rs 50. Later, Kailash went to Rishikesh in Uttarakhand and started spreading the magic of his voice on the banks of the Ganges. In Rishikesh, when he sang songs and people danced to his voice, he would get a divine feeling. In Rishikesh, during the aarti outside the ashrams on the banks of the Ganges, Kailash Kher would sing a song in his voice every day, hearing it, the sages and monks present there would also start dancing.
