
Smriti Irani actor-turned-politician has taken the internet by storm as people are wondering if she is all set to revive her iconic character Tulsi Virani in the reboot of the legendary Indian soap opera Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. According to the reports the makers unveiled her first look from the reboot titled Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi: Tulsi Ka Safar on JioHotstar. Draped in a maroon saree with golden zari and booti work Smriti brings back the signature Tulsi vibe — complete with a bold red bindi traditional gold jewellery a mangal sutra and a sea of bangles. Ekta Kapoor calls it a tribute to TV history Producer Ekta Kapoor the brain behind the original expressed her nostalgia and excitement. When we created Kyunki two decades ago we never imagined it would become such a huge part of India’s television legacy. With Tulsi Ka Safar we’re revisiting and celebrating the most powerful moments of the original in a format that resonates with today’s viewers. It’s a tribute to the characters emotions and stories that struck a deep chord she shared. Ekta added that she’s thrilled to present this journey of nostalgia to both loyal fans and a whole new generation of viewers. “It’s like flipping through an old album” — Mihir returns too Joining Smriti is Amar Upadhyay who reprises his role as Mihir Virani — the character that made him a household name. Speaking about the reboot he said Returning to the world of Kyunki feels like flipping through an old photo album. It’s not about recreating it’s about reliving the moments that left a mark on so many hearts. This new format on JioHotstar offers viewers a fresh emotional lens into Mihir’s story. I’m excited that both old fans and first-timers will see why this show became so iconic. According to the reports Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 will be a mini-series with a planned 150 episodes aiming to fulfil the original shows goal of reaching 2000 episodes.
