
Successful Capacity Building Initiative for Biology Teachers

Dalhousie: A two-day Capacity Building Programme aimed at enhancing Biology education for Senior Secondary classes was successfully held at Guru Nanak Public School (GNPS) in Dalhousie. This initiative, organized by the CBSE Centre of Excellence (COE) in Panchkula, sought to improve the teaching skills of Biology educators in response to the changing needs of contemporary education.
The programme was overseen by the COE CBSE Panchkula, which brought together seasoned educators and subject matter experts to provide a rich academic experience. Resource Persons Mrs. Neera Mahajan and Mrs. Seema Sharma conducted the sessions, employing engaging techniques and insightful teaching strategies specifically designed for senior secondary students.
Special recognition was given to Mr. Tarun, Head of COE Panchkula, and Ms. Kiran Mehra from the COE team for their unwavering support and guidance in creating such transformative educational opportunities. Their commitment to capacity building as a fundamental aspect of educational progress set a positive tone for the entire event.
During the event, Mr. Navdeep Bhandari, City Coordinator and District Training Coordinator of CBSE, highlighted the significance of such training programmes in today's educational environment. He emphasized that continuous professional development for teachers is essential for fostering analytical thinking, scientific inquiry, and a student-centered approach in classrooms.
The programme concluded with a sense of shared enthusiasm, as participants expressed their appreciation for the collaborative learning atmosphere and the practical insights they gained. As the CBSE continues to promote holistic and skill-oriented education, initiatives like this underscore the vital role of empowered educators in shaping the future of students.
