Music fans around the world were delighted over the weekend when they saw Oasis together again for the first time in 16 years. Fans have been waiting nearly two decades for the Gallagher brothers to reunite and perform on stage once more and, now their prayers have finally been answered, as they walked on stage together holding hands following years of tension.

Even though fans around the world were left beaming with joy following the huge moment in music history, some people have been left floored by one thing. The cost of ticket prices from the '90s have been shared online, and people can't get over just how much they differ.

When it was confirmed Oasis would be setting off on a reunion tour, general admission tickets were initially around £150, but shot up to many hundreds of pounds due to Ticketmaster’s surge pricing policy. On Friday (July 4), during a concert at the Principality Stadium in Wales, Liam Gallagher jokingly asked fans if the experience was worth £40,000 for the ticket, making reference to the high cost.

Now, after seeing how much tickets to see the band were back in the '90s, some people have been left stunned. It just goes to show how quickly things can change with time.

Posting on X, Sean Hannam wrote: "I saw Oasis play in Cardiff in 1994 - it cost me four quid." Alongside the post, Sean shared a picture of his ticket, which confirmed the pricing.

He went to see the band live in 1994 at Cardiff Students' Union, and the cost came in at £4.00 for general admission. The gig took place just three years after Oasis formed.

One person replied: "Snap, me too. Also saw them two months before at TJ’s in Newport. No ticket, paid on the door, £3 I think." Another added: "Wow. Amazing to have seen them right at the start."

A third said: "I saw The Strokes for £7 in 2001, Daft Punk for £11 in 1997 etc etc etc, always good to get in on the ground floor and support local music venues."

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "Wow. Inflation has been a scourge for us. That said, hope you're getting to see them this summer."

Someone else also chimed in with: "I was there too. My son can't believe how little I paid. Thanks for photographic proof."

Meanwhile, on Facebook a few months back, it was revealed it cost £7.50 to see the band perform live at Cardiff's Astoria in December 1994. If you saw them back in the day, it turns out the odds are you paid under a tenner.

Despite the rapid change in ticket prices, fans have been raving about the gigs that took place over the weekend. It seems the band delivered all fans wanted and more, if the reviews are anything to go by.

On X, one fan wrote: "Everybody is better off now that Oasis is back baby. Thanks." Another said: "Friday night was epic lads! It was beautiful to see you all together again after all these years."

A third also added: "Believe the hype. Totally life reaffirming. Not just a live gig but an experience everyone should experience."
