New Delhi: India performed brilliantly in the Edgbaston Test and defeated England by 336 runs. This was Indias first win on this ground. The new generation team led by Shubman Gill made a strong mark in the Test. Now the series is tied at 1-1 and the third Test will be played at Lords from July 10. Shubman Gill played two brilliant innings of 269 and 161 runs while fast bowler Akash Deep played a decisive role in Indias victory by taking 10 wickets in the match. This performance was historic for Team India. Who will return to the team? Indian fast bowling attack leader Jasprit Bumrah was rested in the second Test but captain Gill has confirmed that he will play in the Lords Test. Jamie Smiths attack on Prasidh Krishna On the third day of the second Test Englands Jamie Smith thrashed Prasidh Krishna fiercely. In one over he hit 4 fours and 1 six and scored 23 runs. This was a setback for India after Mohammad Sirajs brilliant start. Worst economy rate in Test history According to a social media post Prasidh Krishna has now become the bowler with the worst economy rate in Test history (bowling at least 500 balls). His economy rate is more than five which is considered extremely expensive at the Test level. Who held the previous record? Earlier this shameful record was held by Bangladeshs Shahadat Hossain who conceded 3731 runs in 38 matches and had an economy rate of 4.16. He represented Bangladesh between 2005 and 2015.
