How to ask for information from the government by applying RTI? Just follow these steps, work will be done in minutes, know the full process

The RTI, the RTI Act, plays an important role in bringing transparency in democracy. Helps in controlling corruption. Through this, Indian citizens can get answers to their questions from the Government Ministry or Department. The authorities are responsible for answering these questions. Many people who do not lack questions in their minds but do not know the correct process of filing RTI. At the same time, some people consider this process very difficult.

RTI is quite easy to file. The public can ask for their reply in both online and offline ways. An Indian citizen can submit applications on RTI online portal. Can also pay fees. On this portal, any ministry or department of the Government of India is entitled to obtaining necessary or interested information under the RTI Act.

Enter RTI like this offline

Before filing ITI, the concerned authority will have to write the application form to the Public Information Officer. Which you can send by post. A fee of about Rs 10 will have to be paid through demand draft/post. Enter the information, date, contact and other details in the application. It can be written in Hindi, English or any official language.

How to file RTI online

  • To register RTI online, first go to RTI online portal rtionline.gov.in.
  • Click on the tab of “Submit Request” on the home page. Read the guidelines well. Click on the submit button and proceed.
  • Enter the necessary information. Write the application in the prescribed column. Keep in mind. The word range should be 3000.
  • Necessary documents can be uploaded in the column of “Sarpoting documents”.
  • The Aadhaar card or PAN card or any personal identification is not allowed to be uploaded.
  • It is necessary to have a name for the PDF file.
  • After filling the first page, click on the option of “Make Payment”.
  • No citizen has to pay the fee on submission of applications under RTI Rules 2012. There is no fee for the first appeal.
  • Registration number will be paid. If this does not happen, wait for 24-48 hours and then use the helpdesk.
  • There will be a need to enter a mobile number. The status of RTI application can be seen by visiting the option of “view status”.
