RCB fast bowler Yash Dayal is currently embroiled in a major controversy after an FIR was registered against him under Section 69 for allegedly sexually exploiting a woman by making false promises of marriage. This section is non-bailable, and if found guilty, Yash Dayal could face up to ten years in prison. However, Yash Dayal is not the first cricketer to be accused of such grave charges. Several other players, including two World Cup winners, have faced similar allegations in the past.

Rubel Hossain
Bangladesh fast bowler Rubel Hossain was accused of rape in 2015 by a Bangladeshi actress. Though the actress later withdrew the case, Rubel was able to continue playing, including participating in the World Cup.

Lasith Malinga and Arjuna Ranatunga
Former Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga faced sexual harassment allegations on social media, though no formal case was filed. Similarly, 1996 World Cup-winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga was accused of molestation at a hotel in 2018. Both are celebrated World Cup winners for Sri Lanka.

Makaya Ntini
Former South African fast bowler Makaya Ntini was charged with rape by a female domestic worker. He was convicted initially but was later acquitted on appeal.

Other Notable Cases
In 2015, former Indian cricketer Amit Mishra was involved in a sexual harassment case in Bangalore, which was later withdrawn. Australian cricketer and ex-RCB player Luke Pomersbach was also accused of molestation and violence during the IPL, but the complainant later retracted her statement.

England Players Found Guilty
Two English county cricketers, Alex Hepburn and Shiv Thakor, have been found guilty of sexual offenses. Hepburn was convicted in 2019 for raping a friend of a fellow cricketer, with investigations revealing he used bets to sexually exploit women. Shiv Thakor was found guilty of obscenity against two women in 2017 and was sentenced to community service, remaining on the list of sexual offenders for five years.

This series of cases highlights the dark side of cricket, where players who once celebrated for their skills have faced serious allegations that have tarnished their careers and reputations.
