Monsoon Diet for Heart Patients: While the monsoon season relaxes cold winds and rain on the one hand, on the other hand it also increases the risk of diseases. Especially people struggling with heart and kidney diseases are advised to be cautious in this season.

Let me tell you, the minor mistake made in moisture, infection and catering can become a big threat to heart and kidney patients. In such a situation, let us know what to eat during the monsoon and what not, it is very important to pay attention to it.

Heart and kidney patients should not eat in monsoon:

  • Consumption of salt

According to doctors, heart and kidney patients should keep salt intake in this season very limited. Excess salt prevents water in the body, which can cause swelling, high blood pressure and breathing problems. This further tired the kidney and increases the pressure on the heart.

  • Avoid fried things

According to Dr. Ajit Jain, as soon as the monsoon arrives, pakoras, samosas and fried things increase in people’s plates. But deep fried and street food can be similar to poison for heart and kidney patients. The trans fat and excess salt present in them increases swelling and cholesterol in the body. Outside food also increases the risk of infection.

  • Avoid processed food

Let me tell you, the intake of processed food is also harmful for heart and kidney patients. Processed foods such as chips, noodles, sausages or canned things are rich in sodium and preservatives.

These foods weaken the kidney ability to filter and can damage the heart. Digestion is also weak in monsoon, so its intake should be avoided.

  • Chopped fruit or vegetable

Health experts suggest that eating chopped fruits or vegetables in the open can also prove to be harmful for heart and kidney patients. They are at risk of food poisoning or infection, which can prove to be dangerous for heart and kidney patients, as their immunity is already weak.

  • Quantity of liquid

Many times people think that eating fruits is healthy, but some fruits like watermelon, melon, and coconut water have more fluid content. Kidney patients should consume as per doctor’s instructions. Otherwise, water can accumulate in the body which gives rise to a condition like swelling or breathlessness.
