
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): An ASI who was told to reach the complaint cell of PHQ in June 2024, had ‘disappeared’. Recently the case came to light in Vidisha where a police constable drew a salary of around ₹35 lakh in 12 years, despite neither reporting for duty nor undergoing mandatory training.
The PHQ officials informed that the ASI was told to reach the department and to report himself in the compliant cell on June 26, 2024. He appeared at the cell on July 1, 2024 but did not return to his duty place Sehore since. Neither he continued working in the cell.
But his salary was regularly sent into his account. Recently on July 1, 2025 the matter came to light and the police launched a search of the ASI. SP Sehore, Deepak Kumar Shukla told Free Press, ‘The officials of complaint cell can tell better on the issue’. He claimed that he did not know more about it.

Constable Abhishek Dubey, who remained absent from his duty for 12 years will soon be terminated from service.
Police officials said that inquiry against the constable is almost complete and action against him is imminent. Moreover, recovery of the transferred salary will also be made from him.
The case of negligence surfaced recently and it came to the fore that constable Dubey joined the force in 2012. He was sent to Sagar for training but he never joined duty and instead returned home. No one took notice of his absence but his salary was transferred regularly which he used to withdraw every month.
