The name of this temple is Someshwar Mahadev Temple which is present in Raisen Durg in Madhya Pradesh. A controversial history is attached to this temple, due to which its doors are opened only once a year on Mahashivratri. On Shivaratri, the doors of Someshwar Mahadev open at 6 am and it is believed that it is closed at 12 noon.
A crowd of devotees throngs here. A grand fair is also organized here during Shivaratri. Even though the doors of the temple are closed, but people lean in front of Lord Shiva from outside and offer prayers. Apart from this, devotees also tie cloth at the gate here to fulfill their wishes.
It is said that this temple was built in the 12th century. It was closed long ago due to disputes with the Mughal rulers. The doors of this temple were closed till 1974, but after a campaign its doors were opened. Since then, this temple is opened for a few hours on the day of Shivaratri. The special thing is that this temple is located near the famous tourist destination Raisen Fort. Tourists visiting here also reach to see this temple.
