New Delhi: Indian vice-captain Rishabh Pant has said that there may be a reshuffle in India playing XI in the third Test against England at Lords. Though India chose to go with a single spinner (Ravindra Jadeja) in the first match of the series they utilized the services of Washington Sundar in the second game. At Edgbaston also there was a significant change when Nitish Kumar Reddy substituted Shardul Thakur. There could also be more changes at the Lords as Jasprit Bumrah could be back in the field. Pant ruled out telling the precise mix but did say that the setup being discussed by the team includes either one or two spinners and three fast bowlers. Rishabh Pant drops hint about change in playing XI “Options are still open discussions still going on. Sometimes wicket changes colour in two days. We will take the call. Whether it will be 3+1 or 3+2” Pant said at the pre-match press conference. Having tied the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy the third Test at the historical Lords is going to be a blockbuster as it is finely balanced at 1-1. England skipper Ben Stokes has shown his cards and said that his team will perform with all guns blazing against India when the five day encounter between the two teams starts on July 10. Stokes wants close contest in the series Stokes admitted that given that both teams were of high calibre he always expected a keen contest. He indicated that a contest was bound to have peaks and troughs on both sets of teams considering the class and depth that each team would bring into the field. This was always going to be a series (in) which moments ebb and flow the results were going to ebb and flow because there are two very good teams going at each other. We came out on top at Headingley and they came out on top in the last game. When you have two good sides going at it against each other you are going to see that. I dont think we feel like we have the edge over anyone. We respect our opposition whoever that may be. Well be coming out this week trying to hit them hard and obviously trying to come away with a win” said Stokes in the pre-game conference.
