The splendor of Sawan is just about to begin, and preparations for it are in full swing in Ujjain, the city of Mahakal. This year, the holy month of Sawan starts from 11 July 2025. Keeping this in mind, the Ujjain district administration has taken a big decision. Collector Roshan Kumar Singh issued an order stating that government and private schools in Ujjain will remain closed on all Mondays of Sawan. The special thing is that schools will open on Sunday to compensate for these holidays.

According to the notice issued, there will be a holiday in schools every Monday from July 14 to August 11. Instead, schools will be operated on 13 July, 20 July, 27 July, 3 August, and 10 August, i.e., every Sunday. The notice said, "Given the procession of Lord Mahakaleshwar in Sawan, all government and private schools in Ujjain Municipal Area will remain closed on 14 July, 21 July, 28 July, 4 August, and 11 August. Instead of these, schools will be operated on Sunday." Why was this decision taken?
In fact, in the month of Sawan, Lord Mahakaleshwar's procession and religious events are held in Ujjain. Thousands of devotees gather in these, which increases traffic and crowd pressure. The administration has taken this decision to keep the children safe and the system running smoothly.

Political rhetoric has also started on this order of the administration. Some leaders welcomed this decision, while some raised questions as to how appropriate it is to change the study time for religious events.
