Weather Update – Heavy rain in Delhi-UP affects life, six flights diverted to Jaipur due to bad weather; chaos in Himachal

Traffic and flight operations were affected due to continuous rain in Delhi and the National Capital Region on Wednesday. Due to heavy rains, there was waterlogging in many places in Delhi NCR areas like Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida etc. Due to bad weather in Delhi and its surrounding areas, six aircraft were landed at Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday evening.

Due to heavy rains, there was waterlogging in many places in Delhi NCR areas like Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida. Due to which people faced a lot of trouble. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in many districts of UP including Delhi NCR even today.

There will be rain in Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra

Light to moderate rain is possible over North Punjab, North Haryana, parts of Uttar Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Northeast India. Vidarbha, coastal Karnataka, Konkan and Goa, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir may receive light to moderate rain with heavy rain at one or two places.

Six flights were landed in Jaipur due to bad weather in Delhi

Due to bad weather in Delhi and its surrounding areas, six planes were landed at Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday evening. According to the information, Akasa Airlines flight QP 1629 going from Goa to Delhi, Air India flight AI-814 flying from Bhuj to Delhi and flight AI-2768 flying from Kolkata to Delhi were also landed in Jaipur. These planes were kept parked at Jaipur International Airport till late night waiting for the weather to clear.

Rainfall started even before the red alert was issued

At 7 o’clock in the evening, a red alert for heavy rainfall was issued. What is surprising is that heavy rainfall had started in various areas even before the red alert was issued. After the red alert was issued, the intensity of rainfall decreased.

The department also said that due to the eastward moving cloud cover, most places received moderate rainfall while some places received heavy rainfall on Wednesday evening. Thunderstorms also occurred, lightning also flashed and strong winds with a speed of 30 to 50 kmph also blew.

Heavy rains worsen the situation in Delhi-NCR

Heavy rains have worsened the situation in Delhi-NCR. Roads were flooded at many places, due to which life was completely disrupted. Roads in Delhi and Gurugram were flooded, due to which there was a long traffic jam on the main roads as well as highways. During peak hours, the pressure of vehicles is also high, at this time people faced a lot of trouble due to the traffic jam caused by rain.

Monsoon took the lives of 85 people in Himachal

The disastrous monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh has so far claimed 85 lives, of which 54 deaths are directly linked to rain-triggered calamities and 31 others died in road accidents, according to the Himachal Disaster Management Authority (SDMA).

The SDMA in its cumulative damage report confirmed that natural calamities such as landslides, flash floods, cloudbursts and drownings were responsible for most of the deaths. Mandi district was the worst affected, with 17 deaths due to rain- causes. The SDMA also recorded 129 injuries and 34 missing in connection with these weather-induced calamities.
