Annual Fastag Pass Scheme: With the Central Government’s Annual Fastag Pass Scheme, any expressway or access controlled national highway in the country can be crossed by paying a toll tax of just Rs. 15. Because, in the annual Fastag pass, there is a provision to charge the toll tax from the traveller based on crossing one toll plaza instead of the distance. This scheme is going to start from 15th August.

The notification of the annual Fastag Pass Scheme of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on June 17 also mentions that the entry-exit toll plazas on expressways and access-controlled national highways will be treated as one toll gate.

The driver can cross 200 toll plazas.

A senior official of the ministry said that at the first toll plaza of the expressway, a slip is given to the driver and at the exit toll gate, toll tax is deducted from the fastag according to the second slip, but in the annual fastag scheme of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways of Rs 3000, the driver can cross 200 toll plazas. In this way, he will have to pay only Rs 15 toll for crossing each toll plaza. There is a provision of toll tax every 60kilometress.

Expressways under construction in the country, where you will get benefits

The NHAI spokesperson admitted that, according to the notification regarding the annual FASTag pass of Rs 3000, a road traveller will have to pay only Rs 15 as toll tax on access control and expressways. But technically, why does it not seem practical?

For example, the distance of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is 1386 km. The toll for this distance is at least Rs 500-600. The department is considering making amendments to this.
