
A gas leak was reported at ONGC Well No 21 during a re-drilling operation in Pasarlapudi village, located in Mamidikuduru Mandal of Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district. The incident triggered a swift emergency response and officials have confirmed that the situation is now fully under control.
The leak occurred while ONGC teams were conducting maintenance and drilling activity at the well site. Emergency response units from ONGC, along with fire engines stationed nearby, quickly intervened to neutralise the leak and ensure that no fire or explosion took place.
Hanumanth Rao, Inspector with the Fire Department, stated that the prompt action by ONGC's safety teams and fire personnel played a crucial role in stabilising the site.
