WhatsApp group formed to fight loneliness in showbiz

Actress Tooba Anwar has revealed that a WhatsApp group has been formed by several actresses in the showbiz industry to stay connected and keep track of each other’s mental health and well-being.

In a recent interview, Tooba shared that the group was created so that actresses can regularly check in with one another, exchange thoughts, and offer emotional support. The move comes in response to the tragic death of actress Humaira Ali, who reportedly struggled with loneliness and lacked social support.

Tooba Anwar explained that many actresses in the industry live away from their families for work, and all such individuals are being included in this group. Humaira’s passing has highlighted the importance of mental health awareness and mutual support within the entertainment community.

She emphasized that through this group, the actresses aim not only to stay in touch but to ensure that no one feels isolated. “Many of my friends are also working away from home, and Humaira’s death deeply affected them,” she said.

Earlier, deeply affected, Sonya announced that a new WhatsApp group has been created within the entertainment industry. This group includes actors, makeup artists, technical crew, and especially women living alone, to ensure regular communication and support.

She shared that senior actress Rubina Ashraf and actor Yasir Hussain have also stepped up to help. The industry organization ACT is taking action as well. However, Sonya emphasized that one organization alone can’t look after everyone.

“This is the time for all of us to take personal responsibility,” she said. “It’s already our duty to care for our parents and siblings, but we must also look out for our friends and neighbors.”

Sonya urged people to regularly check in: “Ask if someone needs food, if they’re unwell, or need to go to the hospital. If each of us checks in on just five people, maybe we can prevent such heartbreaking tragedies in the future.
