Pakistani actress Kinza Hashmi has revealed that she was offered shortcuts early in her showbiz career but chose to reject them, opting instead to earn success through hard work and talent.
Kinza, who entered the acting world in 2014 with the drama Adhoora Milan, gradually made a name for herself with her dedication and performances. She gained widespread recognition through hit dramas such as Ruposh, Ishq Tamasha, Gul-o-Gulzar, and Dil Awaiz, winning the hearts of millions.
Known for her beauty and charm, Kinza has a massive fan following not only in Pakistan but also in India.
In a recent interview with Rabia Mughni, the founder and host of FUCHSIA magazine, Kinza opened up about her professional journey, personal life, and values. During the conversation, she spoke candidly about the challenges she faced in the industry, including being offered questionable shortcuts to success.
“Everyone is presented with two paths — one is the shortcut, and the other is the long road,” Kinza said. “I was offered shortcuts too, the kind I can’t even put into words. Everyone gets them at some point, but I never chose that path.”
She added, “There were times when I had intense confrontations. I even told some people, ‘Ban me if you want,’ and I prayed to Allah, telling Him, ‘I’m fighting this, You just watch.’ Allah has never left my side. When I look at where I am now, I feel proud of myself. My family is proud too, because everything I have today is the result of my own hard work. Allah has made me someone who gives, not someone who begs.”
Though Kinza mentioned the existence of these “shortcuts” in the industry, she refrained from detailing what they were. However, in the comments section of the interview’s video, many social media users speculated that she was referring to inappropriate demands made by some directors or producers — an issue several actresses have previously spoken out about.
The interview also sparked debate online, with some viewers criticizing the host’s question about shortcuts as inappropriate, while others praised Kinza’s courage and integrity.
